LOG ON

In Log On, students use desktop publishing to solve puzzles and mysteries while learning about computers. They combine text and graphics effectively to create projects including a crossword puzzle, a computer rules sign, a color-coded puzzle, a cover for their printed work and a congratulatory card. The Internet is accessed to learn more about computers.

 WORLD WILDLIFE

In World Wildlife, students help a zoo by using a predatabase application to group and organize a map, workers, creatures and souvenirs. They also identify patterns and sort animals by size and color.

 WORLD'S FAIR

In World’s Fair, students visit an international fair and use their wordprocessing and graphics skills to design various components of the exhibition such as maps, signs, tickets, carnival rides and attractions. A storybook of their adventures is also created.

 WORLD CURRENCY

In World Currency, students help a toy store while learning about currency. They use a calculator and learn how to use a spreadsheet to compute totals and create charts.

 TIME CAPSULE

In Time Capsule, students use graphics, text, sound and animation to create a time-capsule presentation. Each lesson focuses on a different familiar environment. The children select objects that represent how they live in the present.
